She said the officer had told her then that all loan defaulters had until November to restructure their loan payment, failing which a deduction would be made according to a rate they set.
“Apparently, they were serious. Our WhatsApp group was buzzing over this matter. Schools are about to reopen. It’s a shame to deduct up to the point where I was left with RM19,” wrote Batrisyia.
讓我們從字裡行間讀出其他情報。
根據事主的分享，事主應該已婚，而且有兒女正值個求學時期。假設事主大學畢業後立即懷孕生子，也能算出事主已大專畢業最少七年。因此尚未全數清還高教貸款，還算情有可原。
然而若因為薪金被扣除以付还所欠貸款後，就得為兒女開學費用而煩惱，就折射出事主在家庭規劃方面的不足。也許是沒想到這幾年生活開銷直線上升，也可能是根本不把償還PTPTN算入家庭開銷，也可能是沒怎麼計劃就生了。
而最耐人尋味的是那句『Apparently, they were serious』。事主也是公務員，卻沒把同為公務員的PTPTN當局所給通知當一回事。而且不單事主本人，其喧鬧的WhatsApp群組也是如此。
這似乎說明了，公務員們以其職場經歷來判斷當局勸告，得出的結論竟然是『they won't be serious about it』。也許他們過於安逸，失去對時局的敏感。嗅不出我國政府的經濟狀況已經相當嚴峻。除了那2.6億，其他和錢相關的事都已經是serious matter。
而錯誤判斷，導致不幸下場，這很合理。就如欠債還錢般合理。
還好世上尚有面書和WhatsApp，大家多了個呻吟的管道一起罵政府。其他人也別忘記保持正能量，對他們的遭遇表示同情。
